The below links and phone numbers exist to help parents, students, friends, and family deal with issues that affect everyone. These resources can be utilized 24/7 and have all been crucial in helping those in a time of need. The staff are all well trained and have knowledge of the subjects listed with the links.

Door of Hope 4 Teens –  (914) 393-1904 (Call) / (615) 746-7319 (Text)

*This is a Christian organization that helps teens and young adults deal with current issues. Their services include suicide prevention, help with cutting and self harm, and talking with a trained and caring counselor. They are available Monday-Thursday 7:30pm-10:00pm and Sunday from 7:30pm to 10:00pm for texting.

Crisis Chat

*This is a completely online chat program that helps students deal with issues in their life. The counselors on this chat are trained in crisis intervention, emotional support, and suicide prevention and are available 7 days a week from 2:00pm-2:00am.

Focus on the Family – 1-800-A-FAMILY (1-800-232-6459)

*This 1-800 number connects you with a Focus on the Family staff member who will talk through various issues with you, without condemnation, and offer support, comfort, advice, and next steps. They handle a wide variety of issues from cutting and self-injury, to all types of abuse, to relationship, to pornography, and more. When you call ask for the Counseling Department.

Informed Choices Medical Clinic – 319-337-0575

*Informed Choices is a Christian based medical center that is staffed with knowledgeable and caring medical professionals and deals with pregnancies, adoptions, and other medical issues. The listed phone number is a 24/7 call line where a live representative will always pick up the phone. Their hours of operation are Monday and Wednesday 9:00am-5:00pm, Tuesday and Thursday Noon-8:00pm,  and Friday and Saturday by appointment only.

Suicide Prevention – 1-800-SUICIDE (784-2433)

*This hotline serves as a way to help those who are dealing with suicidal thoughts and tendencies by offering them hope, listening to what is happening, and counseling those in need.

Eating Disorders – 1-800-931-2237

*This hotline is available Monday through Thursday from 9:00am-9:00pm and Friday from 9:00am-5:00pm. The hotline operators are trained to help you through your disorder, and they will listen and offer support and guidance with a compassionate heart.

Crisis Counselors – 319-351-0140

*The Crisis Center counselors are trained on a wide variety of issues including suicide, and are trained to offer emotional support, encouragement, and comfort. This call is kept confidential. They also offer an online chat if you prefer to speak over the internet rather than on the phone.

Teens Helping Teens – 1-877-YOUTHLINE (968-8454)

*This is a student-to-student hotline that is available to call and speak with peers who have been trained on a variety of issues. They are there to talk, support, encourage, and offer help through many of life’s difficult situations. Their website also hosts a large amount of information on various topics and ways to handle them including bullying, grief, depression, anxiety, and more.
